With other luxury brand manufacturers adding to their crossover and SUV lineups, it was only a matter of time before Audi developed its own compact crossover model. New for the 2017 model year and currently only available to the European market, the Audi Q2 is primed to add to the successful Audi SUV lineup.
Available with quattroⓇ all-wheel drive, the 2017 Audi Q2 comes married to either a 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder engine, a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder, or a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Audi fans are already eagerly awaiting the 2017 model year of the S5 coupe, available later this year. Until you can take one for a test drive yourself, we’ve provided some details on what you can expect.
The 2017 Audi S5 is a sportier take on the luxurious A5 coupe. From the outside, its understated elegance gives a hint to its exceptional performance capabilities. A 3D wave line creases down from the front to the tail of the S5 coupe, while subtle air channels and flared wheel arches emphasize its speed.
Inside, a flat-bottomed steering wheel highlights that this a cockpit and not a cabin. The Audi Virtual Cockpit replaces the traditional gauge cluster with a high-definition 12.3-in. digital display that puts important vehicle information, including navigation, in the driver’s direct line of sight.
The dashboard is uncluttered, and the driver can choose to access the infotainment system through the same layout as on their smartphone with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The team at DigitalTrends.com took the 2017 Audi S5 coupe for a test drive along the narrow twisting roads of Porto, Portugal. There, the drive mode selection system and continually adapting suspension ensured the driver was comfortable and the trip was smooth. The 354 HP V6 engine and eight-speed Tiptronic® transmission keep the Audi coupe’s handling spirited and robust. Overall, they concluded that the combination of sophistication, controlled cornering, and advanced tech make the 2017 Audi S5 a mature but fun option that easily allows drivers to find a healthy middle ground between professional authority and weekend thrills.

Since 1924, Ward’s has been a well-respected authority on all things automotive. Known best for its extensively researched 10 Best Lists, Ward’s named the Audi TTS their first place winner in their “10 Best Interiors” award for the third time in five years. The Audi A8 won in 2011, followed by the A7 in 2012, and now the TTS in 2016. Here’s a small portion of the praise Ward’s gives the 2016 Audi TTS that won this year’s crown for best interior design.
Making Best Use Of Space
Evaluators at Ward’s were especially impressed with how much space there was for a sports coupe. They called the TTS a “significant achievement in ergonomics” and even mentioned the rear seats as “cozy”—a very honorable achievement for a sports car.
A Tough Decision Between Audi Models
According to Ward’s, when “the A4 sedan, TTS coupe, and Q7 CUV rolled in our parking deck for Wards 10 Best interiors evaluations in March […] it wasn’t easy deciding which one was most deserving of a trophy.”
The Delight of the Virtual Cockpit
If the luxurious materials, impeccable sound system, and intelligent ambient lighting weren’t enough for the evaluators, the Audi Virtual Cockpit truly represented the “ ‘wow’ factor” for the team at Ward’s.
At Ward’s, experience reveals production vehicles that are simply the best. At Audi Hoffman Estates, we represent the best of the best. New Exterior Options
Audi is now offering a Sport Package for the Q3 and A6 model line, consisting of 19-in. ten-spoke titanium matte wheels, black grille, and black roof rails. The A6 will also offer 20-in. five-double-spoke titanium wheels with red brake calipers on all four corners.
Upgraded and Updated Interior
Audi decided to take their already intelligently appointed and luxurious A5, S5, A6, and A7 models to the next level by making their 2016 S-Line interior standard on 2017 editions. This now standard package includes a flat-bottom, three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, supple perforated leather, and brushed aluminum accents, and adjustable lumbar support. Similar features now come standard on Q5 Prestige models, as well.

Billed as the “Instrument cluster of the future,” the advanced Virtual Cockpit is available right now at Audi Hoffman Estates. Here’s a short preview of what you can expect from this extremely advanced system.
Several Different Functions and Features
The Virtual Cockpit offers several unique functions as selected by the driver. While in “classic view” mode, the 12.3-inch LCD display emulates the familiar rev counter and speedometer cluster. However, when in “infotainment mode,” the driver is able to put the tachometer and speedometer into the corners, allowing the display to show navigation system, reverse camera, telephone, and Audi connect more prominently. The system is even able to display video and Internet media while the vehicle is stationary.
An Intelligent Interface
With an all-new Multi Media Interface (MMI) rotor is touch sensitive and is able to recognize multi-touch gestures, such as pinching in or out to zoom on the navigation display, for example. Instead of over-complicating the amount of MMI functions, Audi has reduced the total amount from four to two total functions. Instead, Audi has moved them to their new multifaceted steering wheel. This, combined with the more interactive MMI rotor, means the driver never has to take their hands off of the wheel or eyes off the road.
Hoffman Estates drivers can easily see the benefits of the Audi Virtual Cockpit with constant road construction and infamous Chicagoland traffic, staying alert and informed is essential. Come visit our website and see our inventory of brand new Audi models or feel free to call us at (888) 698-1441.
Midwest summers—while warm and beautiful—often represent a time of crisis for allergy sufferers. Future Audi owners, however, shouldn’t worry about their allergies impacting their daily commute—new Audi models will feature an allergy neutralizing air conditioning filter.
How It Works
This new filter uses a tri-layer system instead of their previous two-layer system. Audi adds a brand new layer coated in an active substance to protect passengers against fine particulates, gaseous impurities, and reduce allergens. The coating comes in two options: a plant-derived version, and a “modification” of the plant-derivative. Both coatings trap allergens by attaching to their receptors and preventing them from being inhaled by those inside. Independent testing by allergenic and filtration institutes concede that the new A/C filters are highly effective in trapping allergens.
Where Can I Find The New Filters?
You can find these allergy reducing will be available on the A3, Q3, and TT models starting this very month. When the Q2 comes to Audi Hoffman Estates, it will also be equipped with the new A/C filtration system.
What About The Older Filtration System?
Audi is quick to assure owners that their old two-layer system makes a “significant contribution to the high air quality in the interior.” The filters in existing systems are made of microfibers to trap minute particles and an activated carbon layer gaseous impurities.
Drivers in Hoffman Estates, IL can find these new Audi models and many more at Audi Hoffman Estates. A breath of fresh, clean, allergy-reduced air is just a test drive away. Feel free to give us a call at (847) 843-9900.
Audi R8 fans and luxury performance car enthusiasts alike can rejoice: Audi has announced its plans to develop a ‘little brother’ to the larger Audi R8. The R6 will need a few years to begin development with eyes toward a 2018 release for the 2019 model year.
The R6 is believed to come with a platform identical to the next-gen Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman. The concept of a shared platform isn’t rare in the case of in performance models, and should serve to limit production costs of the 2019 Audi R6, making it more likely that a fully-developed model will be available at our dealership in the future.
Exact specs aren’t known yet, but the 2019 Audi R6 will likely feature a sub-4.00 second 0-60 MPH acceleration and a top speed around 175 MPH. The price tag hasn’t been announced either, but it’s likely to be in the neighborhood of $80,000 as a starting price.
The engine will likely be much smaller than the 5.2L V10 available with Audi R8. The rumors are that either a 3.0L V6 or 2.0L 4-cylinder will be included with the 2019 Audi R6, but there could also be a 2.5L 5-cylinder option available. However, until the manufacturer releases actual specs and trim packages, it’s impossible to know exactly which engine the 2019 Audi R6 will be paired with.
